VISIT TO M/S GOVADA SUGAR FACTORY, CHODAVARAM

An Industrial visit was organized by the department of chemical engineering to M/S Govada Sugar factory, Chodavaram on 07-03-2020 and it was a successful with 41 students of III/IV B.Tech accompanied by Dr. D. Anjali and Mr. B. Pradeep Santosh Kumar, Assistant Professor. The unit operations like crushing, clarification, evaporation, crystallization, centrifuging was shown and well explained by the concerned people of the sugar plant. Our students have benefitted by the practical exposure of the equipment. Overall the students felt the visit was very interesting and useful.

VISIT TO M/S AUROBINDO PHARMA LTD.

An Industrial visit was organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering to M/S Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. on 14-09-2019 and it was successful with 45 students of III/IV B. Tech. accompanied by Faculty, Mr. M. Koteswara Rao, Ms. S. Harika and Lab Technician, V. Pawan Kumar. Mr. P. Tirumal Rao, DGM-HR and Mr. Narayana Rao, Manager-QC has given a brief outlook on the Company and processes being carried out. Mr. Shivaji, AGM-QC explained the necessity of a QC lab and given a detailed demonstration on different equipment like HPLC, GC, UV-spectroscopy etc., Later on Mr. P. Srinivasa Rao, DGM-QC, arranged a visit for students around the Penicillin production unit elaborating about reactor, crystallizer, dryer etc., and cleared the doubts of the students on various operations/equipment. Our students gained practical knowledge apart from theory. They were well satisfied with an exposure to Pharma Company and their working environment.

VISIT TO M/S COROMONDEL INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, VISAKHAPATNAM

The Department Of Chemical Engineering conducted an Industrial visit for III/IV B.Tech students to M/s Coromandel International Limited on 9/03/2019. Faculty co coordinators Dr. M. Shiva Naresh , Dr. D. Anjali and students reached the location by 9:00 a.m . Mr. P. Rama Krishna Mohan, AGM, Training , Coromandel International limited ,Vizag has briefed an introduction to Coromandel International Limited and Murugappa group and Mr.M.Prasad Babu , Retainer, Technical training department, Coromandel International limited ,Vizag has detailed about the entire process. After the session two buses were arranged to show all the plants of the industry. The students had a glimpse of the major processing equipment and enjoyed the making it a success.

Tech accompanied by Faculty, Dr. K. China Malakondaiah, Ms. C. Maheswari and Lab Technician, Ms. N. Tulasi. Mr. S. Pavan Reddy, AGM-QA section has given a brief outlook on the Company and processes being carried out. Subba Rao, HOD and Ms. C. Maheswari, Assistant Professor. The unit operations like crushing, clarification, evaporation, crystallization, centrifuging was shown and well explained by the concerned people of the sugar plant. Our students have benefitted by the practical exposure of the equipment. Overall the students felt the visit was very interesting and useful.

VISIT TO M/S HPCL, VISAKHAPATNAM

An industrial visit to HPCL, Visakhapatnam was arranged on 10-03-2018. 46 students of III/IV B. Tech. Chemical engineering along with two faculty Mr. M. Koteswara Rao and Ms. P. Mallika Rani, Assistant Professors and Mr. Pavan Kumar, Technician, Department of Chemical Engineering, ANITS visited the industry. Mr. M. Kali Narasimham, Senior Manager gave an introduction about the plant and its capacity which was later followed by presentation session on refining by Mr. J. P, Technical coordinator. The presentation included a brief outlook on the crude oil exploration, basic refining techniques (Crude Distillation Unit, Vacuum Distillation Unit, Fluid Catalytic Cracking, Visbreaking, Hydrodesulphurization, Hydrotreating, Coking, DHDS, Hydrogenation, etc.,) and petroleum products (Light gases, gasoline-Motor Spirit, Kerosene, Diesel, HSD, Fuel Oils, Bitumen, Tars, etc.). After the presentation session, Mr. M. Kali Narasimham accompanied the students to visit around the refining units in the industry. He gave an outlook on every refining operation. Our students are well benefitted by the practical exposure. Students felt the visit was very interesting and reflected the same with their doubts, interaction with Mr. M. Kali Narasimham on various processes in Petroleum Refining.

Mallika Rani, Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering Department, ANITS visited the M/S Govada Sugar factory, Chodavaram on 28-01-2017. The unit operations like crushing, clarification, evaporation, crystallizer, centrifuging are shown and well explained by the concerned people of the sugar plant. The boiler plant control panel operation is demonstrated for the benefit of students. Our students have benefitted by the practical exposure of the equipment. Overall the students felt the visit was very interesting & useful. The students felt grateful to the employees who made their visit fruitful.

China Malakondaiah, faculty coordinators and 50 students visited the factory. Unit operations like crushing, clarification, evaporation, crystallization, centrifuging were shown and well explained by the concerned people of the sugar plant. The students were benefitted by the practical exposure of the various equipment involving the unit operations. Overall the students felt the visit very interesting & useful.

Visit to Govada Sugar Factory

All the students of III/IV Chemical engineering visited the Govada sugar factory in Chodavaram, Visakhapatnam on 28th February, 2015. The students were explained the functioning of the factory and manufacture of sugar from sugar cane. In this process students gained visual knowledge regarding chemical engineering equipment such as blast furnaces, turbines, evaporators and crystallizers. Students were able to envisage theoretical concepts to practical industrial applications during this tour.

Visit to Coromandel Fertilizers

All Students of B.Tech III/IV Chemical Engineering & IV/IV Biotechnology has visited Coromandel fertilizers on 19/7/2014 as per their curriculum to visit prominent Industries & companies for the practical exposure and insights to the real working environment. They visited the Sulphuric acid production plant, Phosphoric acid production plant and Complex fertilizers plant.
